Inter-Class Fireless Cooking Competition

  • 17 October 2023

‘Recipe is only a theme, which an intelligent cook can play each time with a variation’.

To celebrate World Food Day, an Inter Class Fireless Cooking Competition* was held on 17 October 2023. The main aim behind celebrating this day was to spread awareness about the rising problem of hunger and how people around the world waste food while some do not have access to clean, safe, and nutritious food.

The competition also aimed to promote sustainable cooking methods, raise awareness about energy conservation, and encouraged participants to think creatively about cooking without the use of open flames or electricity.

The competition featured around 70 enthusiastic participants from classes 3 to 5. They were required to prepare a nutritious dish using only fireless cooking technique. The creativity of children was beyond imagination.

The competition was a resounding success. It not only fostered teamwork and cooperation but also encouraged students to explore healthy food choices. It promotes understanding of food safety, kitchen hygiene and enhancing their culinary skills. It was not only a fun-filled experience but also a valuable educational activity for our primary school children.
